First sail of the season

We went to the boat over memorial Day weekend, Kyla helped us get all of our belongings on board and get settled. We put all the new rigging in place and proceeded to get ready to launch.

You see it was a picture perfect day for sailing, there was not a cloud in the sky and the winds were running 10 to 15 knots and steady!!!! So we threw off all the lines but one, Jack goes to start the motor and the chock pin falls off into the water!!! JUST OUR LUCK!!!

Needless to say we didn't sail that day, But Larry a fellow sailor came to our rescue, he gerry rigged a tempary chock pin for us . It will work fine until our new part comes in.

So the next day we finely got out on the lake!!!!! It was a bit gusty and not the best sailing conditions for Kyla's first sail of the season, when it is gusty our boat heels(leans) over quickly and that freaks her out. Needless to say we just sail for about an hour and called it a day.
